Well, at the Bournemouth Surf Academy you can try your hand at either. Our expert coaches are on hand whether you are a complete novice, or just want to get a bit more practice in, on the beautiful Dorset coast.
We specialise in group lessons of 6 people or more...!! We also have all the gear, ready for you to hire if you already know what you’re doing..!

FAQ’s
Will I need to hire equipment for my lesson?
No, all equipment is provided for you session.
What is the minimum age to surf?
You must be 8 or over to participate in surf lessons.
Who teaches the lessons?
All our sessions are taken by qualified coaches affiliated with the ASA.
What shall I bring with me?
Swimming costume, towel and proof of booking.
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive 10- 15 mins before the session and leave ample time for traffic and parking (especially in the busy summer months). Unfortunately instructors will NOT be able to wait for late arrivals as it will hold the entire group up.
Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
You need to be able to swim a minimum of 50m confidently.
Changing rooms?
Yes we have a small space to change.
Showers?
We have an outdoor warm shower to rinse off after.
Valuables?
Please bring minimal valuables. We should be able to secure valuables in a safe place if needed.
Payment?
All payments to be made online in advance to secure place.
Is there parking onsite?
We have NO parking on site, this is strictly for the instructors. There is ample public parking nearby (BIC carpark is only a few minutes walk from us).
